Protection - by Oli & Eddie
We are excited to introduce you to the next piece from CULTIVATE: “Protection”. A never before seen collaborative collection by Eddie from Charlie’s Charmed & Oli (Olivier Salvas Artiste). This art collection as part of “From Seed to Harvest” presented by ARTFASHION encompasses the journey of one’s self healing and protection through the use of traditional Indigenous medicines. Never before has a collaborative collection strongly present the marriage of two mediums or crossed
Our second piece “Protection” symbolizes the strength of warriors through the representation of sweet grass, tobacco and Cedar bark and their abilities to protect and honour. The sweet grass is placed in such a way to honour the meaning of long hair amount the Indigenous culture. Hair has special spiritual and cultural significance in indigenous culture though traditions and styles vary from community to community. Whether worn long, braided or bound in a knot, most Indigenous peoples see hair as a source of strength and power.
